ABOUT PROGRAM

Multidisciplinary
Capacity-Building

The Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, under the presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to sustainable coastal management.
In line with its South-South cooperation strategy, the Foundation is launching a comprehensive capacity-building initiative for African university communities, the AGUYEN network, and Early-Career Ocean Professionals ECOPs. This pilot program, in collaboration with the National Institute for Fisheries Research (INRH), the African Green Universities Youth & Education Network (AGUYEN), and ECOP Africa, is part of the Foundation's efforts within the United Nations Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). Its main goal is to empower young African leaders by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive ocean sustainability through a multidisciplinary approach.
The program aligns with the Ocean Decade Challenge N°09: Enhancing skills, knowledge, and technologies, and Challenge N°10: Shaping a sustainable relationship between humanity and the ocean.
